The History of Quogue
The Village of Quogue, founded in 1659 came into its own as a summer resort community in the 1890s a period known in the Village as the boarding house era. Following lengthy debate, the Village was incorporated in 1928 thereby giving it the autonomy it needed to develop over the years at its own measured pace. Today, Quogue proudly stands apart from the "Hamptons Scene" focusing as it always has, on wholesome family oriented activities.
